# Overview
The Atlas GECH App transforms the accumulated knowledge of the Spanish Group of Hematological Cytology (GECH) into a living, interactive tool for daily clinical practice.
Developed in collaboration with the SEHH and FEHH, this application evolves the classic concept of a medical atlas. It is not just about viewing images; it is about interacting with them. It serves as a query tool for professionals and a learning platform for residents.
The app organizes content according to WHO 2017 standards and includes advanced personalization features, allowing users to build their own "Field Notebook" with private notes, custom collections, and detailed reports.
Problem
Medical professionals and students needed a portable, quick-reference tool for hematological diagnosis. Physical atlases are heavy and lack search capabilities, while existing digital solutions often lacked the rigor of the WHO classification or the ability to organize personal study cases.
Solution
We built a comprehensive mobile application that houses over 1,000 high-resolution images. It features a dual-layer navigation system (General Chapters vs. Smart Tag Filtering), an interactive high-definition viewer, and a 'Field Notebook' system for personal annotations and collections.
# Features
- WHO 2017 Standard Classification structure
- High-Definition Image Viewer with interactive zoom
- Advanced Filtering System (Morphology, Stain, Sample Type)
- Smart Tags logic (AND/OR search capabilities)
- PDF Report Generation for clinical sessions and inter-consultations
- 'Surprise Me' mode for random self-assessment
- Offline-first architecture for hospital environments

Challenges
- >Optimizing 1000+ high-resolution medical images for mobile performance without quality loss.
- >Implementing complex boolean logic (AND/OR) for the Smart Tags filtering system.
- >Generating professional PDF reports dynamically on the device.
- >Ensuring strict accessibility and usability standards for medical environments.
Learnings
- >Handling large static asset bundles in mobile stores.
- >Designing intuitive interfaces for complex medical taxonomies.
- >The importance of offline-first capabilities in hospital settings.
- >Collaborating with medical boards (SEHH/FEHH) to validate scientific rigor.
